Ben Chandler is a British multidisciplinary artist whose practice reflects on how being resonates within structures that organise our reality. Influenced by neuroscience, existential philosophy, and contemporary psychology, Chandler employs material with consideration of perceptual processes as to challenge one’s sense-of-self in the world with attention to space, time, and gesture.

"My practice is an exploration of our inner and outer worlds. More broadly, I create with curiosity towards consciousness' place in the universe.

My works act as propositions about how form elicits sensibilities, and vice versa. Through exposure of my work, I hope to shift others' perceptions to reach understandings of the world not typically achieved in an everyday context.

My works are visually succinct to direct attention towards the interrelation of their spatial, temporal, and performative qualities. Technology and process are intrinsic to an artwork’s production and meaning, so they are left on display. Even in the overt simplicity of a particular work’s execution, what is of critical importance is the dynamism at play, as facilitated by the viewer: the perceiving being-in-and-of-the-world."

Since being endorsed as ‘Highly Commended’ by the Royal Society of British Artists in 2013, Chandler achieved his BA (Hons) in Fine Art at the Birmingham School of Art and went on to exhibit between London and Southend-on-Sea.
